Find out how to copy the pure data stored in an InfoProvider using the function RSDRI_INFOCUBE_DATA_COPY. This function allows you to create fast backups of data in target InfoCubes. |
Categories: BI/BW, Data Management
In your SAP NetWeaver BW experience, how often have you needed a fast solution to push InfoCube data into a temporary InfoCube as the result of a redesign or for test purposes? I am sure you had that experience several times. Such situations typically occur during the proof of concept (PoC) or early design phases of projects in which additional features often come into the project, parallel to implementation.
Normally you need to carry out the following steps:
Step 1. Create a copy of the InfoCube
Step 2. Create an export DataSource (3.x) and create update rules (3.x) or transformations (7.x)
Step 3. Create the InfoPackage or data transfer process (DTP) to upload the data
I can show you how you can eliminate steps 2 and 3 by using a simple copy function that comes with SAP NetWeaver BW.
